|The latest iPhone crash prank is to send a link to a video, which when watched slows down any iPhone until it crashes. It is a specific video from the Sina Weibo-backed video-sharing app Miaopai. Although it plays normally in the iPhone’s video player, once it’s finished it can take up to a minute for the smartphone to lock up, requiring a forced reboot to recover.
In most cases, iPhone users don’t even realize that something has happened – they just continue to use their phone until it either won’t turn back on or locks up – in an app, in the home screen or with a spinning loading icon. This bug appears to involve the media handling functions of Apple’s operating system and affects iOS 5 to 10 and devices iPhone 4 to 7. The older the device, the faster it crashes. The lockup is not permanent, but requires a soft reset or forced reboot to recover the smartphone. To do a soft reset, users of an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus will need to hold down the power and down volume buttons until they see the Apple logo, while users of the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus or older models need to hold down the power and home buttons. After the reboot, iPhone appears to function as normal.
It must be said that iPhone has a history of strange links and bugs that would crash the phone as a prank. For example, in early 2016, a link sent to an iPhone user and opened in Safari would crash it and force the device to reboot. However, at the time the bug also affected Android devices and desktop computers, although to a lesser extent. Industry experts also recall the most prolific crash bug prank for the Apple smartphone, which used the text message causing the recipients’ device to crash without even needing to be opened.

|Got a $30 brick, as a actual "phone" not a media device, has a torch a radio and calls people; simple as hell and I could beat a bear to death with it while listening to the radio. Sometimes new isn't always better.|
|Anyone as owns an iphone kinda deserves anything that comes their way. Possibly MisterKazers phone, for example, by route of the forehead. lolz|

|I always avoid apple products like a hooker with herpes. I have and use Samsung S7 Edge and love it to death, can operate just about any device in my house including Air Con and lights. as Huey Lewis says, "Sometimes bad IS BAD!"|
|my old myphone rio has been the best phone, dual sim android, blew away samsung, especially since it only cost 125 buck. i think the only other phone that was half decent was the old xperia, but i didn't need a waterproof hd camera, especially for 600+ bucks.||
