|The fears are that President-elect Trump can reverse legislation that assures equal access to high-performance Internet, as he has already appointed two opponents of net neutrality, Jeffrey Eisenach and Mark Jamison, to the US communications regulator team.
Net neutrality prevents large Internet companies from creating fast lanes for paying customers. Both Eisenach and Jamison are associated with the American Enterprise Institute, which has previously campaigned against net neutrality.
It must be noted that Trump himself hasn’t said anything about net neutrality, but Eisenach said 2 years ago that the policy unnecessarily advantaged small companies and had little to do with protecting consumers. As for Jamison, he asked provocatively whether or not the FCC is needed anymore, since telecommunication companies and ISPs are rarely monopolies. Therefore, a well-functioning Federal Trade Commission and state authorities are able to handle consumer protection and anticompetitive conduct issues.
At the same time, some industry experts suggest that the kinds of changes that Trump’s advisers seem to be encouraging couldn’t happen quickly or without public comment. Even if the current net neutrality rules are scrapped or overhauled, it might not be so dramatic. Indeed, the curbing or elimination of current policy wouldn’t affect broad access to the Internet that much, as pricing and competition are more important. It is unlikely that major Internet service providers are keen to engage in major acts of discrimination against specific content.
Other industry observers are not so sure and are going to keep a close eye on the new administration’s moves towards net neutrality. Many believe that strong net neutrality rules will help secure budding entrepreneurs the same opportunities as tech giants like Amazon or Facebook. The policy will also make sure ISPs had the same incentive to serve people in rural areas, and not just more high-paying users in cities.
Supporters of Net Neutrality point out that the open Internet has played an important role in driving economic progress in the United States, and can continue to do so, if the new administration sets an equitable Internet policy for people and continue the US role as a global guardian of an open and free Internet.

|Wasn't this the same guy who wanted to do away with the internet entirely like a year ago?????|

|Is that why the US handed over the DHT part of the internet to the corrupt globalists? lol The patriot act sounds great until you read the fine print also. Gotta read the 1000 page bills to understand the manipulation. The people who pass the bills don't even read them.|
|Im sorry, are we expecting anything more absurd from Mr. Donald Donald Trump than the pure and plain simple fact that the American people voted him into office in the first place ?|
Im not saying that Hillary would of been better, Im just saying that in such a wildly shouting democratic country, priding itself on choice and freedom found themselves having to choose between those two people to run for presidency from the millions of people in the country, well, you got no body to blame but yourselves America and I fail to see how you can be shocked, surprised and or frightened as to what happens now. I would think who gets the fastest internet and in what areas etc. would be the last thing on your mind considering the many other actual global and far reaching possibilities sitting just beyond the very close horizon.
|Hillary would have been the end of our country. Ignore the media and do your own research. I would expect more from people on a tech savvy-ish site to gather information themselves rather than drink the media Kool-Aid. Trump has never shown any interest in Net Neutrality and reaching into off hand comments made by an appointee a few years ago is kind of childish. The policies Trump is working on have been policies Americans have wanted for years. All of these millennial cry-bullies have no idea what they're even crying for. Being influenced by leftist libtard educators that incite hate is what's wrong with America right now. Coupled with liberal trash "media" and young minds are ruined. Good thing responsible adults know the right thing to do.|

|Trump just may get the government off the back of the internet. We should only hope. Net-Neutrality is not what it's title implies, just the opposite in fact. I would suggest reading the language of the bill yourself, just keep a copy of Blacks Law dictionary close. One could only hope that the world does not follow the Saudi law of NOT being able to use a VPN. I am tired of doing others homework for them.|
|where can I get a copy of this bill?||
